My late 2014 beach suffered a power steering hose bracket failure earlier this year. This led to the pipe rubbing on the CV boot and could have led to a dangerous failure.
The bracket is a substantial piece of metal next to the aux belt. I'm fairly certain that this bracket was damaged during the aux belt recall replacement last year but lookers van centre in Byker have not admitted any fault. I've spoken with VW UK who similarly have not admitted any fault (due to manufacturing or design).
This has left me with a £500 bill and a sour taste. Added to the roof corrosion issues, I'll be looking elsewhere for my next van.
If you hear any strange noises from the osf wheel area, check your bracket!
