Private messages 'stuck' in outbox?

Hello I've a problem with two PMs I sent several hours ago that are just sitting in Outbox and haven't moved to Sent Items It doesn't appear that they have gone ok - is this to be expected?

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post, but I tried emailing vwcaliforniaforum@+++++++.co.uk but that bounced too!
