Problem with towbar electrics

Hi,

I've got a weird issue with my towbar electrics on my 2012 California.

It all used to work fine but there's been a recent problem where the trailer lighting board only partially works

Right indicator works
Left indicator doesn't, but when that happens the dashboard ticking runs double speed.
Brake lights & normal lights don't work.

I also get a yellow warning light on the dashboard

The towbar and electric harness is all VW fitted. This all used to work just fine.

I have tested with a different light board, but I get exactly the same problem, so it's a van problem not a light board problem

Any ideas?

Most common and probable cause is corrosion within the vehicle socket.
If that is the case then easily replaced.
