The tyres are the "All Weather" option. I have not been impressed with the low rolling resistance tyres fitted to many new cars, especially when wet. I also visit a lot of Motocross and Grasstrack events and the extra grip on the mud helps a little. Tyres seem good so far, not too noisy, the van crashes a bit over potholes but not sure if tyre choice would make much difference to that.
I wanted the extra draw under the seat, but if you spec the 18" wheels then the tyre inflation kit is mounted in the space its fitted, does seem strange but VW like to make things complicated.

Thanks - the current price list options refers to "winter tyres" - do you think these are what you have? I believe they are Dunlop with the ref 215/60 r17 c104/102h - not very helpful from vw
