Rear air con control panel

I have noticed the rear air con playing up as described in several threads on this forum. My question is how do you unstick the buttons on the rear control panel?

I don't know which vehicle you have. Your Avatar states - Looking to Buy.
If you are under warranty then replacement as a warranty claim. If not then could try Silicone spray around buttons.

As a temporary fix I unjammed the stuck button with a thin blade (and told the kids not to touch the panel again).

Have just had the unit replaced under warranty, no question at all from the dealer. That said, I’ve not actually used the new unit so don’t know if it’s any better.

Happened to my 6.1

The Van centre replaced the console rather than fixing.

It was stuck on + for the heat. ….. in the middle of summer. No override

Mine was replaced under warranty. The part alone was some thing ridiculous like £1,200!!!

Same here, replaced under warranty, no quibbles.

Mine replaced under warranty whilst at the "diagnosis" appointment. Took 5 minutes.

(T6.1) Had mine replaced under warranty. The back panel had been used exactly one time. I don't often have people in the back of the van. The very first time it was touched the 'HI' button was stuck in. Waited 4 months for a new part.

A month later I picked up a few friends and someone again touched the (new) panel. Another stuck button. I was able to unstick it but have no faith that it won't break again in future.

VW were helpful on the repair but the unit is clearly a bad design and very prone to breaking
