I'm about to fit a system to my 2015 T5.1 Ocean and have seen different ways of connecting to the rear battery. The difference being that the fused + and earth are connected to the battery terminals and the other method has the earth being connected to the nut in the floor which holds the battery securing plate in place. I'm thinking that the latter refers to the T6.1 models. Clarification would be appreciated.

Doesn't matter which you use as the -tve of the battery is connected to the chassis anyway. I does matter on the T6.1 because of the Battery monitor method used. On your vehicle it doesn't matter which way.
What I would suggest is connect the Solar +tve Below the 75amp cube fuse on the +tve battery pole.
If the 75 amp cube fuse blows, they can, it can be immediately recognised by different voltages on the MPPT and the camping Control Panel.
