Can you help please? We want to remove the front seats in order to fix a seat cover and do the clips underneath the seat. How do we do it?!

DO NOT SWITCH ON IGNITION UNTIL SEATS BACK IN POSITION.
The seats are bolted to the fore/after runners with 4 bolts, 2 front and 2 rear. Slide the seat forwards or backwards to get access. The type of bolt/nut head can vary so check first.
Once undone, lean seat forward and undo the electrical connections to the seats and remove.
Refitting is the reverse.
As said Do Not switch on Ignition until electrical connections refitted and seats back in place, otherwise you will get a Dashboard Error light for airbags that can only be reset by computer by VW or an OBD Diagnostic reader like Carista or OBDeleven.

You will probably find they need a 17mm spanner or socket. Mine is 2 bolts and 2 nuts per seat. In addition to sliding back/forward Rotating the seat slightly can also help in getting good access.
And as mentioned don’t turn the key in the ignition once the airbag wire is disconnected. I put a bit of tape over the ignition barrel to remind me and anyone else.

First check that you actually need to remove it? Most seat covers allow fitting without removal.
