Renowned oil problem

Hey, I've read the posts on here regarding this issue but am after a bit of advice please.

2011-12 T5 California SE 77,000 miles

In the last 4 months we have been going through oil like nobody's business. I'm guessing this age vehicle has no warranty and we really don't have 12k to rectify (assuming that amount from previous posts)

Does anyone have any ideas on a cheaper way to resolve. We LOVE our van and don't want to get shot of it.

A cheaper option is to use an independent garage and have your existing engine rebored and re-built. Some members have the EGR blanked off as well.

If the oil consumption has been high for a while now then there is a possibility that the Particulate Filter in the exhaust system is also blocked and will need to be replaced which is expensive. It can be cleaned but I have heard this is often not very successful.

You are still looking at a cost in the region of £6k I would guess.
