I live in Poole near Sandbanks where a member is advertising a slideout rear tray for sale, but I can't contact them. It is quite annoying to sit in my house looking over at Sandbanks, and not be able to buy this item from them. I collect my California Ocean from Breeze in Poole on this Friday. Any help would be appreciated.

OK thanks, unsure about this as I have never had to pay to be a member of a forum before.

Its a shame you have to be a VIP to respond to adverts. Sellers could be missing out on potential buyers.
Not really. Non-paying members can still see ads and can make an informed decision as to whether to trade up to VIP status.
That small fee pays for itself for many folk I suspect. :thumb

The forum also has a classifieds on Facebook which is free, but you get a few timewaster/trolls.

I think for the small fee, very affordable for anyone who can afford a California, you get a lot in return. I’m amazed to see someone whine about it!

In fairness, when you’ve spent £80,000 for the van and another £6,000 for the PCP interests, I can see how you could feel squeezed for money and struggle to find the £15 VIP fee.

Both you and I know it’s not the forum doing the squeezing here!

For me, I was happy to pay for VIP membership. The Big Blue Bus cost me a wad of cash and when I was a ‘lurker’ on here I found the information invaluable when choosing my van. I’ve continued to tap in to the knowledge since.

And of course I got the coveted window adornment too and used a discount code as well.

I’ve been on the Fiatforum for 20 plus years and that’s on a donation basis. I donate to that to help keep it going, as it’s saved me literally £100’s over the years and a source of parts to keep my 90’s Panda Auto on the road (1 of a dozen or so left).

It’d be wrong of me to post a picture here, so here’s a pic of my Ocean, excuse the little car in the way hehehe.

I’ve bought loads of superb items from the marketplace from people I trust. That’s the benefit to my mind.

I totally agree and have also bought a number of items from the forum. It’s been a positive buying experience every time and you know you are buying from genuine people.

Opening it up to everyone would encourage people to sign up just to sell/purchase an item and make it feel a bit more like Facebook marketplace.

I hope that's not directed at me. My post wasn't a whine.

I'm guessing they've all rusted now, thank you ever so much for jogging my memory of these :)
