You maybe get what you pay for. The preparation takes the time and then how many coats of paint etc are applied.

i've watched my father spend may hours rubbing down painwork with wet and dry. applying a coat of paint, then when dry rubbing down again etc etc etc

i've a mate that also runs a bodyshop, but now only does Classic and PreWar work. he also says it's all in the time preparing etc
