Just updated both Firmware to ver 6276 and Map Data to ver 8536.

Update easily done. The Firmware took about 40 minutes and the Map Data about 60 minutes.

Be aware that the Firmware Update deletes any Saved Destinations and any Imported Personal POIs, but these are easily reinstalled.

Bit cheaper than a VW Dealership that are asking over a £100 for the DVDs.

Not sure yet. Seems to stay on DAB longer around here rather than changing to FM.
The Firmware has upgrades to the System, Radio, DAB, Navigation and System Apps.

Hi WelshGas . Firmware updated fine but getting an error message re CD/DVD with map CD .
Seller says this is common problem and to contact him for solution . Have done this and waiting for his reply . Did you have this issue ?

Fortunately No.
I did have something similar when re-installing my Personal POI from an SD card. It wasn’t recognised at first. 4th attempt it worked. I’m sure the eBay seller will sort you out. Messages were answered fairly promptly during working hours. Let us know how you get on.

Rns 510 will not give you any warning of camera, only the icon on screen at camera location , so database is of limited use.

if you have a smart phone the TomTom app is great for cameras and far more dynamic than the RNS510 for traffic.
Ive just updated my RNS510, but didn't attempt to load the speed cameras in case it overrides my Personal POIs, so Ill be interested in how you get on.

Prefer my Campsite Database, from Archie,ASCI and Caravan Club, for Europe.

Ive just updated my RNS510, but didn't attempt to load the speed cameras in case it overrides my Personal POIs, so Ill be interested in how you get on.

You can put them all into the one database as per instructions in download section.

If it's cameras you after then have a look at Pocket GPS. They have a database which is updated regularly which will go into various formats and also apps for Apple and Android.

Followed his detailed instructions with SD card and burning a DVD and all loading ok now !

What firmware did you have before? On my 2010 RNS 510 I can't get the version by pressing Setup, only AM FM? Does your system have the star in the top right corner like mine? Tried the eBay link but no longer available, any chance of a copy of the firmware

I had Firmware ver 6270 and the Update was to 6276.
Unfortunately my son has the DVD in his unit. He has a faulty HD and so the unit navigates from the DVD. I'm unable to copy it as it isnt a simple DVD.
