The road sign display stopped working after two months showing error on the dash that the dealer says there is no current fix for! Can anyone help?

Yes, ask the dealer to refund the cost of the option you paid for to work as it was intended but does not.

tell them you’ll happily pay when VW can make it work as intended

There must be a fix surely even if it means replacing the associated hardware and software components. Do we assume that systems associated with the road sign recognition are also not now working? I.e. audible/visual warnings when exceeding the speed limit.
