Roof box

Hi
I'm thinking about getting some roof bars and putting a roof box on has anyone any experience with this?

I would be using if for a trip we have planned to carry a paddle board and kayak in and bits and pieces to save space in the van.

I've calculated the weight and that all fine I'm just not sure about the roof struts does it put a lot of stress on them? Does the roof drop down or will it hold up fine with the extra weight?

Any experiences or advice is much appreciated

We use a Kamei Husky L roofbox (330l). My experience is that the Beach roof will only stay up properly if the roofbox is empty.

Agree, I have to unload a kayak (~ 23kg) before raising the roof.
