Roof Motor operated with ignition off?

Hi all,
We own a T5 Cali, has anyone experienced the roof motor operating on it's own? we were asleep last Sunday night when we were woken by the noisy motor operating but for only about 10 seconds? obviously we were parked up in a campsite pitch (electric connected) ignition off, it was raining but not hard we do also like to put the roof cover on........any idea's.

Normal, but concerning first time. After about 10hrs + the Roof Hydraulics are checked for pressure and if required the motor runs to bring the pressure upto the correct level. If you want to stop this happening at night then switch ignition On/Off before bedtime. This resets the timer. No harm will be done. Temperature and temperature variation can alter how frequently this is done but it doesn't start checking until about 10hrs after Ignition Off.

As above and been discussed on the forum before , it can happen the roof correct itself afther a longer periode beeing up and slowly losing pressure.
It is very scary if it happens while asleep in the top ...we had this once .
That was also the only time we had it in the many times we had the roof up.
I think most Cali owners are not aware of this feature ....dealers even less...

Many thanks for this thread and this reply. This happened for the first time with us yesterday just for a few seconds which alarmed me due to our preference to sleep in the roof. It was the afternoon so not in bed but I had a restless night worrying that the roof may start to close on us. I do feel somewhat reassured now that this is a built in natural occurance. Sandra

Just turn the egnition on and back off before going to sleep nothing will happen.

If the egnition is off for longer than 10 h AND the roof is up AND it happend to lower due to pressure loss or diffrence in themps. making the oil thinner ...it corrects itself...so all these factors need to be there and therefore it not happens that much.
