While giving my Beach a clean yesterday I noticed that the nearside rear corner of the roof has not completely closed. There is a gap of just under a cm between the rubber seal and the van bodywork. The offside looks fine with the rubber being compressed to give a good seal.
The van came back from having the roof pox sorted a couple of weeks ago so this is almost certainly due to the roof or hinges not being re-fitted / adjusted properly.
Has anyone else had this issue and was it an easy fix ? I couldn't see an obvious way of adjusting how far the roof closes at the scissor hinge corner. Back to the dealer I suppose but does it need a Cali specialist?

If your California is still in 3 year warranty I suggest a call to your dealer. If out of warranty and the vehicle repaired by one of the four authorised repairers for the roof pox then a call to them or to VWCS as the work will have been guaranteed by them.

Best of luck

I would give the people that did your roof pox a ring to see what they say

ehm.....I'm sure you already checked....but once it happened to me and I was so worried...
then I found that the roof mattress wasn't in the right place....

I have not checked the mattress so good tip. I don't keep anything up in the roof but its possible the mattress has slipped. Will check that before ringing the dealer. The van is still under warranty so no worries on that score. Thanks for the advise everyone.

Bit of an update: The roof mattress was fine and not causing any obstruction. Rather more worrying was that of the 8 bolts (4 each side) that should hold the scissor hinges onto the elevating roof only 5 are currently there :shocked :shocked
Case opened with VWCC who are going to organise getting it sorted.
