Sorry guys and girls but we no longer have a VW California.
Sad as it makes us  we have changed our vehicle for a larger (toilet on board) model - an Autocruise Accent .
After 2 and a bit weeks exploring a tiny part of the west coast of Scotland and using many of the wild camping areas throughout our time there we came to a relatively tough decision to swap our vehicle for a slightly more 'practical' option. Also we like to stay at small CS sites and sometimes we discover that they have no facilities and a toilet tent in winter is certainly not comfortable .
However, we can't use the local multi storey car parks anymore and the 1m extra length will no doubt make us think twice about where to park. BUT it wasn't a decision made lightly and we are glad we've taken the plunge and done it now.
Our new vehicle also means the bed can be left made up and when we get to our destination (or find ourselves a bit too tired to make up the bed!!!) we don't have to worry....
On swapping our vehicle we left behind lots of 'extras' for the new owner and hope they love using it as much as we did. Also the stickers are still on so we hope they will be 'encouraged' to join the club.
We would like to stay members of the VW California Club and hope to join you guys (not in the same area of the field of course) on meets in the future.
Thanks.
Hiedi & Chris.
