Him&HerTravels
So after a great night stop at The Bush Inn near Winchester (great food and a short drive to the Christmas markets) we woke up this morning to beautiful icy white trees and fields and headed back home early.
As we neared home it started rain/sleet/snow adn the road were covered in a slush mixture. Thought nothing of it, got brand new CC2 tyres on.
I backed on our drive which banks down towards the house, and has a skip downhill of where we park it. Firstly, as I got out the van I slipped ar*e over t*t on the ice, then as we stopped laughing (weirdly my wife was laughing a lot harder than me) I realised the van was sliding of it's own accord, sideways, towards the skip!!!!
My wife and daughter were still in the van and we all had a moment of blind panick, followed by frantic shouting by her that it was getting closer and closer to the skip.
I jumped in and (for those of you that have a ghost immobiliser know who frustratingly long it takes to start the van) managed to start it and creep forward away from the skip and eventually off the drive back onto the road.
Have since driven to Wickes purchased and smothered the drive in Rock salt, as my work van is also parked at the bottom of the drive and we need to drive out tomorrow am.
Another adventure to add to our ownership, but not one I want to repeat!
