We are about to come up to the 4 year service, has anyone else had their Cali serviced outside of VW?

Any advice appreciated, as it seems very expensive to spend £1000 at the 4year service (water pump replacement, cam belt replacement) and the £400 annual full service seems steep when Servicingstop are quoting £154 for a full service? Anyone have experience of using Servicingstop?

If still under warranty stick with VW. If you use 3rd party after warranty expires & you then get an issue VW are less likely to contribute towards cost. Likewise if you don't do cam belt.
Do servicestop use genuine parts ?

My 2011 cali is booked in for year 4 service, total cost will be circa £1150.

Sent from my SM-G900F

I am with Andy on the 4 year service, On other cars I have used quick service centres
Had loose wheel nuts over filled oil and un secured air filters to name a few
Plus when you come to sale what is a buyer going to want to see in your service book a VW service history or at very least a specialist VW serving your Cali..

Remember the 4th year service on many modern car is going to be the big bill one.

If serviced by VW then there is a warranty on the genuine parts they fit, especially things like the cambelt and water pump. I doubt if many ,if any, of these servicing garages do anything but the basic stuff and would be surprised if they used genuine parts or give a warranty on the work and parts. Your choice in the end but I would suspect it could also affect the resale value for a private sale. " We Buy any Car" may not be too concerned but they would knock money off.
