Hi All - have a bit of an issue that I wouldn't mind some assistance on from someone with a bit of technical knowledge

Last week a van decided to come a bit too close and smashed into the drivers wing mirror - smashing the outer casing (not the glass surprisingly!) and the side assist warning lamp is no more!

The impact has ripped the plug connector off the wires that would normally just clip into the connector on the new lamp. It has been into VW Commercial Lincoln today who don't know how to fix as there are only 2 wires (Black and Yellow) and 3 pins on the connecting plug.

Seems a huge waste of money to have to have the whole unit replaced (over £400) just for the sake of a connector! - will happily do so if absolutely required as want the van to be in tip top condition, but surely there is a fix for this as a huge waste otherwise as everything else is fine

Does anyone know
A: Which of the Pins these 2 wires should connect to
B: where can i get a replacement connector?
C: Who sells the replacement side assist warning lamps (Other than VW Dealer - as have burned my bridges with my local one after todays debacle)

Many thanks in advance

This is a truly technical matter, and loathe I am to say it, I think you will have more joy on the T6 Forum.

The VW wiring diagrams don't show the internal connections of the mirror.

Reading the article above from WG.

The lamp is just an LED, the middle pin is not used, not sure what wire goes to what cavity. But you only have two chances. The LED will only work one way round, but you will not cause damage the wrong way around.

Led Module I think you want part 16, I have used lllparts.

From above I believe the connector is

Without seeing the connector damage it is hard to know if the wiring terminals that go into the housing are intact.

The connector terminals appear to be

But crimping terminals, esp. waterproof ones with seals is a bit of specialist thing, you need to have within reason the correct type of crimp tools.

Please take this all with caution, as always I would hate for anyone to waste money or time on my understanding of this.
