Bamberg is the best place in the world for beer. Smoked beer. Wow.

My SatNav shows a warning for toads.

We're travelling down to pick one of our daughters up from her German exchange in Bamberg. Second time we've been actually - a fantastic town, now with added incentive!

Will put it on the itinerary. We can't decide whether to head for Latvia etc. and then back via Helsinki and Sweden this year or return to Croatia, Slovenia etc. and do some more moseying around down there. So one thought is to head roughly east from Calais until we can't get much further in the EU and then head north or south depending on the weather forecasts. So Bamberg looks like a good staging post on the journey.
