Recently I hit a pot hole that wasn't visible due to heavy rain. The horn on my T5.1 stuck on and only stopped when I repeatedly hit the horn part of the steering wheel. Since then it has occasionally sounded for no reason and again only stopped when I repeatedly hit the horn. Local garage say the centre of the steering wheel needs replaced but it is NZ$3'000 (£1'500) for a new part. I'm trying to source a second hand part locally in NZ but wondered if anyone here knows of a European site for parts that might ship down under. Or has had a similar issue with their Cali?

Hi CaliNZ

try these they appear to ship to Aus so you may be in luck if they have / can source a horn (air bag assembly)

also

you could replace the whole steering wheel ?

lots on a multi coloured auction site, likely to ship world wide !

There is a thread on here about changing the steering
wheel to a Golf GTI one.
It was a lot cheaper than what you quoted for a horn replacement.
