SpaceMate

I agree. This is a great little addition to the Cali.

Does anyone have any constructive tips on how to lock the Spacemate when parked on a nose-down incline so it doesn't automatically slide back in?

Not everyone parks on the straight and level all the time!!!
Would a temporary solution of a length of 2 * 2 cut to the distance from the back of the drawer to the back of the seat when open work as a placeholder?

I will take a look at mine later.

That would surely work. But as you are aware, space is at a premium in a Cali. :)

Apology - off topic but what is the colour scheme of your Cali? Looks really good but haven’t seen that combination before.
Thank you! It's vinyl wrapped over Reflex silver. I used a metallic matt vinyl over the silver. It's been a great addition and protects the paint. We thought of painting it but actually had a body shop advise against paint.

Does anyone have the rubber mat for the SpaceMate? I’m wondering if it’s really smelly rubber.

I got it without the mat and purchased the same from Amazon cheaper and cut it to size

I just installed the SpaceMate drawer in the garage and what a difference! Installation took me about one hour by myself. Simon, at SpaceMate, provided huge support. I was worried about my projector screen that is stored in the grey 4-inch PVC tube (to the right in the picture). Simon measured out everything before I purchased and assured me with 100% guarantee that it would work. It did, no problem!

By the way, it's easy to install the drawer solo by using two 50mm battens. If you measure and install the mounting bolts and then lay the battens parallel to the tracking slides, lay the SpaceMate on top of the battens. Slide the drawer toward the rear seat and align the bolt holes of the drawer frame with the installed bolts, then slide the battens out one at a time, while lowering the drawer frame onto the bolts. Do the same with the other side and then tighten the nuts as directed in the instructions. Easy Peasey!

I'm really happy with this purchase and it will save a lot of time faffing around in the boot looking for something that is behind something else. Now I can look down and see it!
