Stickers or not?

I am just finishing the process of getting some rust repairs done and a respray to the van and now have a dilemma.

It is a 1996 California Coach (pop top, IslandBlau) and originally had stickers on the tailgate and bonnet to advertise the fact. My dilemma is should I replace the stickers on not?

For:
- It's how the van would have look originally
- The bonnet and tailgate look quite bare without any badges

Against:
- I don't wan't to damage the new paint
- The mid 90's logos look pretty dated.

I'm erring towards leaving them off but what would other people do?

I agree with the “dated” look and would prob leave them off.

I do like my late version decals. Neutral colour and actually very close to the current T6 look/font.

Those look a lot better - the colour and font look quite classy whereas the earlier ones don't - especially the "coach" logo

After my re-spray last year I replaced mine with these from ebay:

A German seller who will make in your choice of colour (and I think if you ask, size etc)...
I'm happy with the results and find the look a little more up-to-date than the original version, whilst keeping the original design look...

I like those - much more discrete and classier.

I’ll order a set I think - might not fit them for a bit though!

I love the 90s style logo on the tailgate of my Coach. I don't have the sticker on the bonnet. Not sure if I like the big pastel coloured triangles and birds decal on the side... personal preference I think.

I'd "stick" with originals (get it?). Your van is getting on, so it's age is something to be proud of, not hidden. At the local VW show, it was the metallic gold Polo's with brown velour interiors that were getting all the attention exactly because they looked their age. If it's a 1990s van I'd certainly put 1990s stickers on it, why not? Go for it.

Hmmm, interesting opinions on the matter and hence why I am still not sure which way to go on it.

I do like the look of the bxl_lads more discrete stickers, they are in keeping with the van but less shouty than the originals with the pink/yellow text.

I think I'll run the van stickerless for a bit and decide later - don't want to damage the new paint!!!!
