Stuck up roof

My California roof refuses to close. I cannot move the switch from showing open to showing close.Any ideas Oscarize 12

I doubt it. The T4 doesn't have a hydraulic roof. Manual only. But I agree that a bit more info would help.

No it is a T5

DO you mean physically pulling the roof down?

Is it manual or electric roof on T5? If electric, then the ignition only - no running engine is the next step to try.

Thanks for that. But how do i close the roof then is it by physically pulling it down?

You turn the ignition on as if to start the engine (2 clicks) (the dashboard lights and glowplug light comes on)but don’t twist the key the final bit to engage the starter motor. Then try pressing the button to lower the roof.

I think the issue is with the control panel button and rotating the button to show open/close?

I had to replace the wee twisty knob on the control panel as I was afraid of just this, that it would eventually not move from open to close. It would just twirl without changing the settings.

Job completed. New button bought online £6. Requires 2 hrs and patience to fix, together with the help of excellent YouTube video. Other things required . Torx6 screwdriver or bit, 2 guitar plectrons ( most useful)
