Hi all, here's a quick not so detailed walk through of installing a sub woofer to a navigation/VW head unit, at the same time I installed a dashcam. I put my sub in the boot, you may want to put yours under the drivers seat, either/or, hope this helps. I did a lot of research and testing, but as with most things on the internet, do your own research and testing as well to be sure. I'll put the pics at the end of the post. read it all and it should all fall in place and make sense. This is on a Cali T6 Beach MY18 with rear speakers.

Any questions pm me or post a reply.

I bought:
Vibe sub wiring kit https://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/car-amps-subs/vibe-8-awg-advanced-amp-wiring-kit
Vibe fastplug https://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/car-amps-subs/vibe-fastplug-quick-release-amplifier-sub-box-connector
Dashcam wiring kit https://www.halfords.com/technology/dash-cams/dash-cam-accessories/nextbase-dash-cam-hardwire-kit
Autoleads speaker to RCA https://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/car-amps-subs/autoleads-line-output-to-rca
Scotch connectors https://www.halfords.com/workshop-t.../halfords-cable-lock-connectors-hef531-15-amp
I also used an RCA control to adjust the bass, eBay "RCA volume control".

I had all the tools I'll need.

I left the car unlocked and put the keys in the kitchen, you do not want to mistakenly turn on the ignition or it's a trip to the dealer for the passenger seat airbag light. Most would say disconnect the batteries, that's up to you.

I started by routing the power, remote and RCA cables through the panels on the passenger side (I used trim panel tools), the remote wire comes from the gear lever area (comes later), the power and RCA cables come from under the passenger seat area. poking them under the trim was difficult as there's insulation on the other side but I managed it in the end. Next I removed the passenger seat, this is 2x 13mm nuts at the front on the rails and 2x 13mm bolts at the rear, before lifting the seat, I tilted it forwards and unclipped the airbag cable and then popped the seat out of the way, I moved the drivers seat all the way forwards and pulled off the panels on the rear of the seat bases to give a better access to the plugs etc..

Now, I used the scotch connectors to wire up the right rear speaker cable to the speaker cable supplied and routed it under the carpet to the passenger seat base, there's a tunnel where all the other cables go, then did the same with the left speaker cable, brown is negative. I then wired in the speaker to RCA lead to the speaker leads I had just done and grounded the adaptor to the negative on the battery (in hind site a chassis mount would've been better, less interference), then plugged in my RCA volume control knob.

In the boot I connected the sub using the fast plug and supplied fuse holder, the earth I took from the panel above where the jack sits, I bared the metal and used a nut and bolt I had kicking around, for the sub I'm using this is ample. I then connected the power to the battery under the passenger seat, checked all the connections with a meter until I was satisfied.

I then put back the passenger seat in reverse not forgetting to re connect the airbag plug! and replaced the panels back onto the seat bases.

Up front i routed the remote wire along the side of the passenger step, up the door seal and under the dash to the fuse box below the gear stick, I then routed the dashcam wires from the fuse box, under the dash up the side of the door pillar, and tucked it under the roof lining at the front to where I wanted the camera to sit. The positive for the dashcam and the remote I connected together using a new bullet connector and used the supplied fuse splicer, the dashcam negative I earth against the metal body of the fuse box. The fuses in the middle are ignition controlled, I used F29.
