T5 California Instrument panel mileage and clock resetting and Data isn’t working

I Recently changed the battery on our 2008 2.5 California and have since noticed that the dashboard clock and mileage trip reset themselves after being stood.
yesterday I noticed that the trip information, MPG Data settings controlled by the wiper stalk aren’t working and no display is visible on the dashboard.

I’ve not checked anything yet, had a quick look on here, can find some explanations as to possible cause and remedies but past posts don’t answer the blank data screen issue.

I got the same! Although not due to new battery any ideas what is causing the blank MFD and clock / trip resetting ??

Hi VW Forum, I still have a few small issues and think that possible second leisure battery may have something to do with the problem, possible earth shunt !
Got blank Trip / mPG on dashboard.
Question is do I get it fixed before offering it for sale in mid August after our last Scottish trip
It's a genuine sub 72k 130 bhp 40mpg example - unmolested always had seat covers on it and the previous owner took off the awning, and it's here but requires fittings and re installing.
We have plans until mid August but I'll put an advert together closer to the time, meanwhile if there are any vw camper tech guys in the North of England, North York's, Or Lothian areas please get in touch, so we can sort these niggles out before it's on the market.
