T5 Driveshaft worn

My 2008 2.5 TDi cali has only done 53,000 miles and is in for a routine service, but I've been told the driveshaft is badly worn. Having looked on various forums it seems this is a known issue for many people.

Anyone else had the same problem?

Quote for repair is £800 including labour.

had mine done this time last year (130,000 miles), is it the short stubby one, if so they are fitted dry, when replaced it was greased before fitting. I think mine cost about the same.

Yes, I believe so and I have read that for some reason they aren't greased when they are fitted!
Being repaired by VeeWee in Bristol, think they are a trustworthy outfit?
