T5 stuck on the beach

Saw this today while parked up at Penmaenmawr. Tide on its way in .....



The red LR tried to tow it off and couldn't, then they daisy chained it with a 4x4 pickup and still couldn't budge it.

Then the green LR turned up and tried to winch it, but the VW stayed there while the LR slid towards it!

Finally they anchored the green LR with the red one and got it out.

Bet the Landies were made up having a proper job to do!

They were lucky people were around to help.

I got stuck in the sand in Portugal, right next to a perfectly good road, I called VW assist and he asked how far on to the beach I was.

Apparently VW assist will refuse to help if you are far from a road, on a beach...

Compacted sand is fine to drive on. Soft sand, not so good.

Yes it was. There was quite a crowd of onlookers! I would have hated to see it submerged though ...

We walked from Penmaenmawr to Llanfairfechan and on the way back I took this photo

I didn’t realise the drama had already started, on the beach below you can see the stuck T5 just left of centre. Can you spot our Cali in the car park to the right?

As a matter of idle curiosity, did you notice if they were using the front tow point? See attached photo). If so, it is nice to know that will take 2 Land Rovers on it.

It was quite a distance away, but it didn’t look like it was attached to that point, it looked like something underneath. Could be wrong though ....
