T6.1 upgrade from Composition Colour to Discovery Media

Can I upgrade my T6.1 to a larger discovery media screen from the basic composition colour?

The problem is modern Media units are coded into the vehicle Body Computer module so swapping to another VW media system is not straight forward as it involves software re- programming of the vehicle.
Most owners fit aftermarket systems from eg: Kenwood which with correct wiring loom adapters can do all that VW units do and more.
If you want to persist with a VW upgrade then I suggest you check out the T6 Forum. There are some clever people over there who are into such upgrades.
