Several lights appeared on the dashboard yesterday, ABS, Tyre pressure, traction control and the cruise control has stopped working. My next call may need to book a visit to Yeomans in Exeter unless anyone can suggest a better course of action?

Tyre pressures checked? All of these could be related since ABS and traction rely on monitoring wheel rotation.

Yes, I checked the tyres thanks, the message on the dashboard is that the tyre alert is not working

Probably an implausible signal from an abs sensor but you will need an obd reader to verify

Thanks secret lemonade drinker, Yeomans want £144 per hour for a diagnostics check in 25 days, suggestions for local VW mechanics with correct testing equipment gratefully received.

Had exactly the same problem a few months ago and booked the van into Birmingham van centre and abs sensor in rear wheel replaced which solved the problem. Luckily bought 5 year extended warranty when van purchased so work carried out under warranty- expires end December this year. Hope this helps.

Any VW specialist will have the right OBD reader, if you were in Lake District I have one, I did a caddy ABS sensor last weekend for my Father. There is an independent in Barnstaple and in Exeter.

Thanks for your reply, my extended warranty ran out a few months ago, for your information, although I had warranty with VW they would not accept that the failed roof sensor was covered and wanted £3,500 for the repair, this forum recommended Richard Milton of Kernow Transporters in Marazion who repair this fault for £275. He also suggested that my recent fault was an ABS sensor and I have booked a slot with him to repair the fault. I’ll post the result.

Hi Wilbur,

Thanks for the contact details, I'm heading off to see Richard Milton, Kernow Tranporters on Tuesday and will post results. Oddly I'll be close to Barnstable on Wednesday and will check your contact out if Richard can't offer help.

Both of our front abs sensors failed a few months apart which is common from other threads. I’d read a good local independent down the road from us (just out of the 7 year extended warranty). VanTech, Uckfield, East Sussex did it within an hour whilst I waited less than £200 from memory. They’ve been really good. As well as the lack of ABS, the Van’s stability safeguards were also out (top two lights). Just in case you’re driving and there’s high winds, I hadn’t realised that the van even had this feature, so when a side wind blew us a car’s width into the next carriageway, I was very thankful nothing was there and slowed right down. Hope this helps others

TMVR in Brixham will sort this for you. I had it last month. ABS sensor as others state

Thanks Dave, Brixham is certainly closer but I’m booked in to Kernow Transporters on Tuesday.

Good to know, maybe next time.

Best wishes

Andy
