We don't have a T7 section yet. Here is a first piece on it, from a german automotive magazine, published today:

from the article:
  • no facelift like the T6, but a completely new development to meet new crash/safety regulations
  • modular basis system for Multivan and up (Cali)
  • hybrid or purely electric, probably in combination with CNG
  • new axle concepts for higher total load
  • front and 4-wheel drive
  • sliding door remains
  • hydraulic steering replaced by electronic systems; then also all the assist systems from their passenger cars become available

Short Resume as I can read:

It is planned to be a new construction, or newer than the T6, primarily based on diesel (sales today are 97% diesel). But hybrids (plug-in) with electro (or even gas) are in the planning. Primarily as for short trip assistance. But a 100% electro is not planned for the start. It is a matter of capacity and space. And cost. And it is most likely that the T7 will have quite some DNA from the T5-T6, due to the new i.d. Bully (Planned 2020) will be a completely new build. The hydraulic steering will also become electro-mechanic, so it can be equipped with all the modern functionalities like lane asssist etc.

2020 come soon … ;-)

Love it! Let's hope Fresco Green is on the way back :thumb

Now, that I like. Hope it is 2020.

Was thinking exactly the same. Instant like.

This picture is a rather uninspiring mockup, a picture of a T6 badly ‘photoshoped’. Perfectly happy with the T6!

But some who bought late T5.1’s will be skipping the facelift T6 and waiting for the T7 in order to maximise our investment in the T5.1.:thumb

Disappointed if its turns out to be a mock up.

I would place my order now if that was the T7 offering.

Mercedes latest press release shows they intend introducing electric vans over next two years. Problem is range is 150km maximum and down to 100 km when loaded or cold weather. China also seems to be acquiring most of the lithium and all manufacturers seem intent on building new models there so the future is uncertain. Glad I have a T6 and time to enjoy it rather than delaying for who knows what. As GJ says what we have now is dependable.

I like the look of that. A reassuringly familiar no nonsense shape but with nice minimal styling changes.

The modular interior is the way forward and so is the hybrid engine so I look forward to seeing it in the flesh. Don't hold your breath for the electric version though.
