And the continued cursed vehicle continues

Offside wingmirror no longer folds on locking - took it to the garage and they think someone has manually moved it at some point (be it transit. Previous garage during all the work, or someone in the street)

It’s auto folding so see no reason it would have been moved and there’s no impact marks at all on it.

Quoted price to fix £624

Added fun of the part does not exist in their network yet either so can’t even fix it yet

It’s the gift that just keeps on giving!

I find that a bit strange to say the least.
As there is no damage I cannot see how it could have been in a collision . Nor can I see how it could be forced open from the closed position as it takes some force to do that.
Is there any noise from the mirror motor if you use the switch on the drivers door to open/close the mirror?
I had 1 mirror fail to open/close on my T5.1 on occasion using the drivers door switch. I didn’t have auto fold mirrors. Use the switch a few times and it worked.

You can hear the motor trying to move - it’s more like it’s outwith the catching of the motor.

The garage pushed it back in line and it worked for a while but it does stop after a while and you need to push it back in line or it does nothing

It’s easy fixed if the motor still works, manually put it into the closed position with the ignition off. And the selector switch set to open. Turn ignition on, turn switch to closed then back to open and it should remediate. Mines ended up in the wrong position a few times due to various incidents and always made it back to center with a bit of playing.

I had an Audi software update on a TT some time ago (Audi garage). They ended up replacing the modules to control the wing mirrors - after initially trying to tell me - “they weren’t folding mirrors” - fortunately I had the documentation to prove otherwise.
