Tailgate Blind

Can any members recommend a removable tailgate blind ? We have the built in one but have reached the age where a cup of tea in bed is part of the daily ritual and find the built in blind sits too far off the tailgate glass. We would like to prop a pillow up against the tailgate but worry about damaging the built in blind. Do any others have this issue and if so, are there any removable blinds that are recommended. We have been very impressed with the Brandrup isotherm windscreen and front window blinds.

They look ideal - do they stay in place using a thin velcro strip aka the windscreen version?

I'll have a think about it and let you know if I would like to order a blind. My good lady is currently sewing side panels for the awning may decide to have a go herself first !

I had those in my caravelle. Such a good fit that it didn’t need any Velcro at all and sits almost flush to the glass.

To be clear I had the ones in the first picture which I think were the standard ones on a 2010 T5.1

IIRC I fitted the velcro strip to the top of the windscreen as it kept falling out of place without it. Once in there though it was completely imperceptible and out of any field of view. It was about 1cm wide IIRC.

The rest (2x front doors, 2 x mid doors & 2 x rear windows would all stay in place without ever needing to fix any velcro to the windows. Occasionally they'd come loose (usually opening and closing the front doors) but I traded that off for the lack of velcro in the other windows. They also did a great job of keeping out the light.

There are lots of cheaper options out there but I haven't tried them.

@Everything VW California - I've got these on my shopping list for this summer. Just wondered if you could clarify the product codes and prices for me please?

I'm definitely looking for the Isolite extreme version of the tailgate blind as mentioned above and potentially the other rear cabin windows/sliding door too in isolite extreme for the T6 Ocean. The only bits I won't need are the front windscreen and driver/passenger windows.
