Terrible Campervan Insurance claim experience! First time post :)

Unfortunately Comfort won’t insure me, I suspect mainly because I have to park on the road. Got a quote through Safeguard this morning. Half the price of the VW renewal quote following the 12 months free but still around £900. I used Safeguard for 10 years to insure my previous van. Excellent claims and customer service. I would recommend them.

I've been with Safeguard for the 8 years I've owned my Cali and see no reason to change. Had a claim when someone reversed into me with no problems, even got my own choice of repairer (VW approved one) instead of theirs. I did shop around once but only found one a fiver less so not worth changing.
Have to say though, I chose to deal via VW Ensurance (sic) claims agent so that I got a courtesy car which Safeguard didn't offer. Safeguard being a broker, it depends who the actual insurer is. Could have been complicated as I had communications from Aviva and Swinton (one is part of the other) but I just passed it all on to the claims agent.
