Spotted at the Classic Car show at the weekend.
Based on a Bedford Beagle van which was basically an Vauxhall HA Viva.

I used to work for British Leyland.

When I moved up a rung they gave me a company car.

When I moved up another two rungs they gave me two company cars.

I asked for a demotion. One broken down wreck in the drive was bad enough, but two?

Reminds me of sucking petrol out of carburretor float chamber from our Morris minor engineers van on Mull...and then frequently through the highlands ...ah those juddering days!...did 100k in that van...always imagined I was in a WW2 bomber driving in the night.....so tired on the way down the M6 thought friend was banging on roof....was in fact me driving over rumble strips on side of motorway in my half waking dream time!!

We can plot our route to Purbeck with various breakdowns in old vans :)

Had an HA Viva work van once, it was awful.

My Dad used to have a Bedford van, the CF(?), the one with the two sliding doors at the front, you could drive it with them open, great in the summer (no air con in those days). 3 speed column change, it was a hoot. Dormobile used to do attractive camper van conversions, some in two tone paint ... giving my age away now ..... :embarrased
