Thule Sun Blocker G2- any good when raining?

I've read the threads already on this topic/item and no one has mentioned if also shower/water proof? i need it for both sun and rain ( given in Uk we get more of the later) so wanted to ask before decide which type to get. Has anyone tried it in wet weather. I like the fact this also can be the tie down two- aka: two birds one stone as mean less 'stuff' to make space for.

I would go for the rain blocker or privacy blocker, the sun blocker is more just for shade

The rain blocker does a fair job as you would imagine.
