My 2021 Cali seems to have lost it's marbles. Everything is showing as a fault. Currently error codes for the following are showing:-
Lane assist not working.
Traffic sign recognition not working.
EPC.
Park assist not working.
Stop/ Start not working.
Brake error code showing.
Error for head lights.
Error for tail lights.
Doesn't know it's in P when stopped.
Not starting.
Diesel heater u/s.
Been into Limp Mode but that cleared after a minute.

Waiting for recovery as AA tech couldn't communicate with the van.

I think it's FUBAR.

Waiting for recovery.

They're just the faults showing on the dash. Hard reset failed to clear them.

Flat battery? I had same and after a heavy duty jump start from the AA and a drive they all reset.

Mine went equally bonkers twice recently and on both occasions was caused by a flat battery. The battery is however in good health but was being sucked dry by the infotainment system attempting to download an OTA upgrade but repeatedly failing and trying again.
Might be worth checking for that train of events?
Hope it gets resolved quickly for you.

You get the same when disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. The faults disappear once you drive for around 10 - 20 minutes

Full relay recovery by AA, 15 hours, three trucks, later and I'm booked in at the workshop. They've not had a chance to look at it properly but initial thoughts are that this is rodent damage. Really?

It could be a damaged set of CAN wires (Vehicle Network) or Corrupt / Damaged Module. (BCM inc Gateway would be the obvious common cause)

That is based on the AA saying they couldn’t get communication and the list of your faults. Whilst lots of faults can be caused by a single issue that cascade, this is a reasonable list of faults and maybe a broken network, certainly some network cables are external. Faulty BCM which is also the Network Gateway would have the same effect with no comms.

It really depends what the AA mean by can’t communicate, VW dealer may be able to get a more comprehensive view of what is and isn’t working.

Good luck Loz, what an absolute pain in the neck.

If indeed it is rodent damage does anyone know what the fix is if indeed there is one?

That was my first thought

Seen that mentioned too many times on here for my liking. I've first hand experience on it too with my Daughters LR that had the same thing - lit up like a Xmas Tree.
Insurance wrote off as soon as I called to make a claim. Hope fully yours is not the case!

From what I've read on here, VW don't want to know even though they have apparently used cabling underneath that the little beggars are partial too!
I'll be parking up with rat traps!!

I have heard the same that VW will repair but not fix the ongoing issue, read on here somewhere that someone had got a local garage to resolve and no further issues....any ideas?

Despite the initial diagnosis of rodent damage, it turns out that the issue was a failed CANBUS module that was failing to communicate with all the other modules. This explains the AA's systems inability to communicate with the vehicle.
All fixed under warranty. :bananadance2
