Travelling from hook of Holland

Hi, we are travelling to Hook of Holland, looking for advise and recommendations for onward travel, we have just over two weeks and want to incorporate some ww1 and ww2 towns, battlefields etc. hoping to go through Germany , Switzerland and Austria through mountain passes coming back via Lyon and Dunkirk, need suggestions for routes anyone please?
