So following a couple of dusty camping trips I though I’d give the old bus a bit of a clean.

Rear bench seat was looking a tad lived in. Not a fan of sprays/foams etc so I opted for a more definitive solution.

Unbolted/screwed the bench seat and back then set about removing the upholstery. A little laborious removing hundreds of staples but quite therapeutic.

The seat back is more complicated as you need to removed the head restraint mountings.

Anyway, once the covers were off I chucked em in the washer. 40 deg.
Came out the same size as they went in which was a bonus. Nice and clean.

Replacing the covers was easy enough, a nice work out for the staple gun.

Jet washed the carpet too. Sweet.

“Don’t try this at home children”

Nice thorough job but what was plan B if they'd shrunk?

I only do Plan A’s. :Grin

Very commendable. I really couldn't be bothered with all that - I just know I'd cock it up somehow. BTW we paid for the GardX treatment. It's been great on the external paintwork, but the horrible grey seat covers are already covered in stains. I'm not hugely bothered. A van full of stains = a van full of happy memories … 'ah, do you remember when you spilt beetroot all over the back seat, darling?' … and 'doesn't the whiff of pickled onions add ambience to our beautiful surroundings' ….
