Hi there, I have a Volkswagen California 6.1 ocean model. Does anyone have recommendations for a good rechargeable USB fan to help keep the van cool when sleeping on hot nights?

We just use a variety or small ones for kids prams on Amazon. I am tempted by the big battery powered Shark FlexBreeze doing the rounds. My sister brought one here the other week and I was not unimpressed.

We have found though that fans cool people, not vans and what is best is to make sure to close all the doors and blinds and even the pop top throughout the day and let the air through on an evening with a through draft.

I've got one of these, hooks just about anywhere (including under the awning), it's pretty silent and will last all night on a single charge. Two other friends with vans bought the same one (there's lots similar on eBay / Amazon) and they both swear by them too.

Waitrose & John Lewis sell a great usb fan for £12, we have 3! 3 speeds and runs for ages on one charge.

Thanks for all the amazing suggestions so far....this really is a great community! I will share a bit more info on the specs:

1. I am sometimes in areas where it can get close to 40c even with roof and all vents open, so I need something with a bit of grunt that will run all night.
2. I usually (as per your pic above "The Little Red Cali") put the fan on the kitchen units which means I have to point it down slightly to cool the sleeping area. So need a fan that can be pointed down.
3. As I am on the road in south of Spain for long periods, I don't have a lot of space so need something that can be stored easily and am thinking it would be perfect to have something that fits in the empty space under the driver or passenger seats as I do not currently use these spaces. Alternatively at bottom of my wardrobe.
4. I favour units with larger battery capacity as I am often static without hookup.

@Begize I like your suggestion but do you happen to know if it would store under the driver or passenger seat in California 6.1.

Thanks!

I went the other way and just installed a fan on the regular air intake so forcing air in through the air filter and coming out of the regular air vents. Haven’t tried it yet but seems to work for the co2 levels while sleeping downstairs
