Using C-channel in rollout awning

Seems you have to open the rollout awning a few centimetres to access the c-channel. That leaves a small section of the top of the rollout exposed to weather.

Just thinking need I worry about a potential downpour causing an issue with water collecting up there and is there a simple solution if we want to use the c-channel for a bigger sun canopy? TIA

Once you've accessed the c-channel, just roll the awning back in. Will just need to make sure the kador is cut to size
