Awesome part of the world, been there every year for the last 10 apart from this year as got some friends in Stechelberg, just up the valley from Lauterbrunnen. Going to be one of my first trips when we get our Cali for sure.

Safe to say Switzerland is our favourite country.
We did Grindelwald last year and Lauterbrunnen the year before.
This is our third Swiss location this trip, just can’t get enough of it and we’ve been blessed with great weather too

Their cows are enormous.

No - stopped overnight at the dam - there is a toilet which is open 24 hours and parked right next to that. Not quite where pictured next to the dam because that spot has no overnight signs on it but opposite side of the layby is OK and 3 vans there overnight. In summer probably quite busy but in October not bad. Only stayed one night as heading on somewhere else next day. Just had a look at Elan Oaks though and looks a nice site - Elan Valley walk from there is very popular and its right on the route.

Not sure if you would have seen my on Thursday as I got there 7:30 in the evening and it was pitch black - I didnt see anything until the following day! Unless you were late leaving and picked me up in your headlights but I dont recall seeing many other vehicles. Could it be Friday you mean?

And yes, bottom is a wrap on an Oryx white van - wasnt sure about the blue when I bought it and thought I would get it re-wrapped a different colour after a year or two but have come to love it.

you are right - it was a stunning day and I walked over the top to Rhyader, saw some wild ponies and was rewarded with the most stunning views on the way back before then going back up the old railway line (skirting around the mound where it has collapsed so as not to go the long and less interesting way around the reservoir)

Yes - I will be back and will try to work out timing to see some water flow. Levels were really low last week.
