view this morning looking to Cairngorms, pouring rain yesterday gave way to a lovely day of changing light for working in the mountains today. Shame this wild camp is soon to disappear as Council are putting parking charges on with no waiting 2200-0700. More over its the only free parking between Aviemore and the ski carpark that allows overnight parking, it is not good news for backpackers either.

What I want to know is how you took that photo without footprints in the snow. If it was me (I.e. fundamentally dishonest) it would be because I slept in a warm and cosy hotel, and came back to see my van snowed in…

That’s a nice site. Visited there in February a couple of years ago. Great walking and cycling (Monsal Trail). The area must be really beautiful in the snow. Any problems getting back to the main road in the Cali?
