I have just bought the small Caddy Maxi California. It has no fridge as you will know. Does anyone know what would be a good one to buy to plug in. I can't find a mention of the ideal buy anywhere on line. Thanks. Nick

Welcome on board. Nice to hear of a Caddy California being bought, I still haven't seen one around. Can you really lie in bed looking at the stars though the glass roof?
I hear Dometic mentioned a lot as reliable plug in fridges, but they are expensive. Alpicool also gets good reviews, sells itself on being quiet, and is much cheaper
Would this fit?

The Ecoflow Glacier has some unique features like ice maker, dual zone and 40 hours wire free function. But just like Dometic.....at a price. It all depends on your needs and intended use.

Dometic as generally the best, size depends on your needs.
Indel B also very good.

I have an Indel B TB15, which is pretty economical on power. Using an Anker PowerHouse 521, it will last 24 hours. It’s quite a compact solution, which may be a factor with the Caddy.
For something a little bigger, the Dometic CoolFreeze CDF 26 may be worth a look. Not sure what compressor it uses, but I know the Indel B uses a good quality Danfoss/SECOP one.

The CDF 26 is currently £340 on Amazon, which is a decent price.

Out of curiosity, is there a blind on the panoramic roof?

Can the TB15 fit between the front seats? TIA

On a T6, yes. It is quite a tight fit and does not move. The TB18 also fits.
The Caddy does not have the space between the front seats though, so won’t work for that.

I saw one a few days ago at VW Camper Centrum in the Netherlands and...... there was also a fridge standing next to the car. So you could give them a ring (or e-mail) and they might be able to tell you shich fridge they suggest.

That’s the first one I’ve seen.
Definitely compact…

I would recommend a dometic (formerly Waeco) TCX 21 cool box, can be run on 12v or 240v and is large enough to chill 4 pint bottles of milk and bottles of wine. I have a cousin in Australia and we have used hers in the outback and it worked brilliantly. We have used ours since 2017 and it is excellent.
My father uses one in his caddy Maxi conversion.

I had one as a loan van and it did not have a blind on the panoramic roof but there might have been a bit of fabric that clipped into place I did not go looking for it.

There is indeed. I think it is magnetic but it looks a bit like an afterthought to be honest!

Take a look at the numbers ninja ice box. Would last 4 days without needing more ice.
