VW Cali Shoe Rack Shelf Thingy

Just bought one of these...



The new version has a slot at the back and is supplied with a webbing strap and buckle to secure it somewhere....the thing is....I don't know where, that still allows the bench to move forward unimpeded..

Am I being a bit thick?

I am sure I have seen other makes that velcro through the AC vent behind? Is that a possibility?
