VW diagnostic charge

METBF Mean equivalent time before failure rate. Is a recognised thing. If something is going to fail it will do it early in life due to manufacturing error or faulty component (inverted bath tub curve graphically). Then a period of settlement for it's life span followed by expiration from age. I had a dipped beam bulb fail on a Transit after several years followed by the other within 24 hours. A coincidence yes but not unlikely. I'm not suggesting you change all your bulbs but you are more likely to get another age failure due to them all getting to a certain age point, which could still be a couple of years away or more.

NSR seems to be particularly prone to failure, I don’t know why.

I was chatting to the owner of the Independent Transporter specialist garage I use about these and the VW diagnostic charge. They change the OSR most frequently. Which is the one that went on mine (and I hadn't mentioned that before his comment).

NSF for me....all the puddles in the gutter....two years on all the other 3 are still fine.
