Wales Campsite Recommendations

Planning a trip to Wales (2 seniors and a dog). I've found lots of ideas and advice on the forum. However, I'm looking for campsite recommendations to include, an easy walk to a dog friendly pub or village, good showers etc and places of interest to visit. Currently any area in Wales is viable. Thank you

We use search for sites https://www.searchforsites.co.uk/ usually there are recommendations with each entry. You will find all sorts of sites on there from fully equipped ones to wild spots.

Hi we used this site for our first nights away in our Cali last April. The Gower peninsular and beaches offer some stunning scenery to explore. The campsite is expensive but you get first class facilities, the shower block has underfloor heating, I don't even have that at home!! https://threecliffsbay.com/

Here's another from my 'must go to list'......kept it from when we used to Bell Tent, but they do accept Campervans. Each pitch secluded and comes with its own fire pit area and under cover cooking/eating/seating area.

I can recommend Shortlands farm, short walk to Pembrokeshire coastal path and a lovely dog friendly pub called The Druidstone Hotel on the coast. In 2017 the camping field itself was basic (no marked pitches and only 1 standing water pipe but not a problem for us) but decent shower block and sea views. A few hook up pitches available if you are in the right caravan club. We managed 5 nights w/o hookup.

Lovely location just 20 mins walk into Tenby and 15 mins to North beach. The facilities are basic but acceptable. You will need levelling ramps and parking sideways on stands more chance of getting it level. A few ehu points.

Well, in fairness, although it’s not my favourite place, Rhyl is much improved after a lot of development in the last few years. There’s a new foot/cycle bridge over the harbour where the old iron bridge is; and the prom from there to the centre has been re-done and is quite a nice walk. The centre itself is a bit grim, but carry on beyond towards Prestatyn on the cycle path and it’s very pleasant.

We stayed at Three Cliffs last September. It's a lovely site with easy access to lovely beaches and the coast path. As it's on top of the cliff, it does get very windy (or it did last September!) so we lowered the roof before going to bed but could still feel the wind blowing Cali. Lovely shower block which was kept very clean.

We stayed at Pembrey Country Park last September - lovely site. Great walks around the park and woodlands with easy access to the beach. We also walked to the nearby village (can't remember the name) for a pub meal one evening.

Lovely forest site, non traffic walk into Bedgellert with dog friendly pubs, pizza on site, Welsh Highland Steam Railway stops on site with trains to Porth Madog and Caernarfon (train takes dogs), Snowdon nearby. Great place.
