Oh my - Thankyou so much. Out with the compressor and check what’s up. Much appreciated, Polomint.
Do you have a “vehicle status”A warning light has just appeared on dash I’m miles from anywhere outback. Should I be worried?View attachment 113814
How do you do the reset? My T5 had the “non” TPMS system which did require a reset but my T6.1 does not and displays ”live” pressures. It’s quite a sensitive measurement, and can be triggered with temperature change. We carry a small pressure gauge to check without getting the compressor out. Happened to us last week on a hot (by uk standard) day - but each tyre was on or abouts the required setting, so I reset the pressure to current values. Checked again when tyres were cold, all okay.
No manual reset on my t6.1 Ocean. If you need to put air into the tyre you will need to reset the system, it’s an easy process.

On T5 and T6 you only have the option of indirect TMPS (in the UK not sure about other regions) - this uses the wheel speed (ABS) sensors to determine the number of wheel counts per revolution as a way of determining the tyre pressure - it is very rough way of determining (inferring) tyre pressure and they have a “reset” which is a way of the customer stating that the tyre pressure is correct and thus a reference point for the system to use, this system is called “indirect TMPS” as it infers high or low pressure via a change in wheel speed vs when the customer hit reset which is the reference. No manual reset on my t6.1 Ocean.
A short drive after inflating/deflating the tyres resets the TPMS.
I’ll remind myself and let you know. It was similar/ same menu option as my wife’s old golf which is how I found it.How do you do the reset? My T5 had the “non” TPMS system which did require a reset but my T6.1 does not and displays ”live” pressures.
Agree about the sensitivity…. Had a warning showing low pressure on rear left even though the display showed pressure was fine.
