Hi, does anyone know the size of the standard anti roll bars on the latest 6.1 Oceans (I’ve got a MY23)? I need to get under mine and measure them but would be useful to know if anyone already knows this.

I’ll be looking at upgrading my suspension and also lowering the van at some point. I’ve had ARB’s uprated in the past too but that was a 5.1. Obviously I’ll be chatting to some suspension experts and driving some modified vans so I can make an informed decision but just trying to get a handle on the current set up.

Cheers.

Perhaps worth pointing out but I’d check to see if you have a rear Arb fitted. Often standard OEM practice is to fit only the front (they like their vehicles to be nice and neutral/understeery). Fitting a rear (if it’s not already fitted) would be a good step before upgrading to a larger dia (ambulance spec) front/rear.

Ok, thanks. All the info I have suggests front and rear arb’s fitted (certainly were on the 5.1). I’ll get on my back in the next couple of days and have a look.

Just a quick update. I’ve not got under the van as yet but I was talking with a transporter suspecting specialist who’s seen a number of Cali. 6.1’s. From what he’s seen, they switched to the larger (28mm?) T32 ARB’s late ‘21 or early ‘22 but he’s also seen late ‘22 Cali’s with the smaller ARB’s (24mm). Possibly due to parts shortages maybe.

I’ll take my van in, in the new year and we’ll check them when on the ramp.

Stiffer ARB's were an option at least back in Nov 2020 when I order my Euro-spec Coast. I ticked that box. I haven't driven a 'standard' Cali so can't say if it makes much difference.

Wasn’t an option in the UK when I bought mine. I suspect mine has the T32 ARB’s as I feel it’s pretty good in terms of body control but it can always be better (and I’m comparing this to my old T4). However, the law of diminishing returns dictates that I’m only going to be interested in spending money if it makes a significant difference. Well worth it in my friends 5.1 T28 conversion as we were starting is such a poor place. Hopefully I can test drive a Cali with upgraded ARB’s before I make the decision. If not, and they are the T32’s, I’ll save my pennies.

Poly bushes may be a half way house,
they tend to be harder than the standard rubber ones, which can help stiffen up the standard set up somewhat, (last a lifetime and won’t deteriorate like rubber ) .

Still not cheap, there are a few manufacturers selling them direct as kits (other than the highly marketed blue ones )

Like you mention , I did my T5.1 combi , upgraded suspension (H&R -50mm) front and rear AR Bar , new Bushes, cups, drop links etc.
That was done at about 90k miles , it utterly transformed the handling of the Van, largely due to the original suspension being shot , (shot = could compress one of the old shocks by hand).

Hi I had Steve at CRS fit 30mm bars I bought from @Californication69.
to my MY22 Ocean. Steve was surprised that the upgrade was only a few mm larger than factory, as it was the first MY22 he’d seen, which plays to @Grigio Van Grigio ‘s point.
I did convince myself there was less body roll when I left CRS, but not sure I’d have spent the £500 had I known that.
I have DCC too, which does stiffen things up at the touch of a button.

DCC is damping not anti roll.
