Hi all,
In the spirit of the various popular threads „What have you …”, I offer you the “What unidentifiable part has fallen off my California today?” thread and look forward to your contributions.

I was checking the roof recesses before lowering, and found (bonus) 3 unidentifiable bits. Two plastic parts that look identical, found on opposite sides about half way along the roof and a small rubber bung thingy centrally.

The black plastic bits are about 2cm square and each has a circular protrusion and a lip on one edge.

Any ideas anyone please?

Cant help with the above I afraid to say, but I'll chip in with my find today. Found on the floor of the garage by the Cali's sliding door. Do we think it is Cali related? Many thanks in advance.

all those bits should live on the scissor mechansim. have a look at the other side to see if they are still there

I opened the underseat drawer yesterday & a little white plastic grubscrew fell out of somewhere - I need to investigate where from.

I found what looked like a couple of black plastic screw head covers in the underseat drawer. Had a good look and couldn’t find where they may have come from - puzzled.

Then I twigged that they may have fallen off of something that we store in the drawer rather than from the Cali. Sure enough they were from a USB fan that we keep innthere.

A white plastic grub screw sounds suspiciously like something from an appliance.

Have you had any work done on the van, it looks like an insert from a hand rivet gun. You swap them depending on the size of the rivet shaft.

Found this screw rattling around inside the light fitting above the side door.

Thanks for the reply. No riveting on the van (hopefully) And not a tool that I own either, so the plot thickens. Thanks anyway

I had exactly the same problem as you. It was driving me mad until Breeze Poole found it.
Aah, now you come to mention it, there has been a rattle that we just can't find in that area. Will have a look...

I agree….my scissor bits came apart 2 nights before the end of my trip! All sorted again

Not quite the answer to your question but I’ve lost an earring and a camera Len’s… KNOW they’re in the van somewhere but can’t find them anywhere!
rain due tomorrow so I’ll have another look….so annoying!

That looks like the sharp bolt-headed screw that fixes the interior upper plastic panels to the metal body, including where the down-lighters are fitted. There are a few of them underneath the strap-handle on the “C” pillar behind the sliding door. Strange thing is that a metric socket didn’t fit, it’s an imperial size, from memory maybe 7/32nds?

I would love to know what these are and where they can from. Either off a Caravelle or California?

Look under the cooker lid. That’s where I eventually found my specs!!! ‍

I know what these are. They are 'isofix guides' you place over the isofix-connection in your seat/bench, so you can more easily slide the child seat in and out of the isofix. They usually come with your child seat and not with your car.

Brilliant!! You certainly know your tech. I will see if I can use them on my 3 seater bench when using my grandson’s childseat. Cheers.

We have a brand new Coast and found this at the bottom of the wardrobe after our first trip. Anyone know where it should sit? The gray side is sticky.

Also behind the sliding shelves that go into the wardrobe, there is some foam sticking up. Anyone what it is and where it should be?
